It was one year ago (yesterday) that I shot the wedding of Steve and Kelli Mizesko (great friends of mine) down in Florida. I was looking through some of these pictures the other day and thought that I would post some of my favorites from that wedding – (though it was hard to choose)!!! Steve and Kelli – you guys are awesome and I hope we get to see each other soon!

I am not always happy when the weathermen are wrong with their predictions… but this weekend – I was thrilled! Chelsey and I met Bob and Teresa at Flat Rock Park – Saturday evening – for their Engagement Portrait Session (that comes with their Wedding Package). It was supposed to rain (80% chance) all day –> but we had nothing but beautiful skies and great light! Bob and Teresa were so much fun walking around the park as we captured their love for each other. They love to laugh and bring a lot of joy with their smiles. I look forward to getting to know them better and can’t wait to take pictures at their wedding! Here are just a few of my favorites from our shoot:

Yesterday started off as an awful day to take pictures – but ended up perfect! I met Sarah at her house for her Senior Pictures photo-shoot yesterday afternoon in high hopes that the son would break through the clouds and give us a few minutes of it’s time! And it did! He is just one of my favorite shots from yesterday. I love forward to posting more!

This weekend – me and the crew captured an incredibly beautiful wedding on one of the nicest days of the year (so far)! Kayla Smith and Abbott Turner got married this past weekend up at Sweet Home Plantation – in Pine Mountain, GA, and they were so much fun! It was so much fun to capture the moment with Kayla and Abbott as we did photography and videography! Chelsey and I had a great time tonight shooting some fun pictures of Andie Addison – daughter of Luke and Cam Addison – tonight at their house! Andie held strong for us for quite a while and when she started getting fussy we just gave her the miracle worker… a pacifier! I don’t know how or why – but those things work wonders with babies! I love photography for one main reason – to re-live beautiful memories and captivating moments. Photography can be all about getting great shots and taking beautiful images… but it is also about capturing life. Life happens in many different ways and comes in all sizes, shapes, and forms. The life that I have had the privilege to capture through photography but also live with down the driveway is… Alice Murawski, my grandmother. A little over two years ago, my grandfather, Melford Murawski, passed away – leaving his sweet wife here on earth for a few more years while he is praising God in heaven! When he passed away, my grandmother seemed to have lost all purpose in life. She had no one dependent on her, she was too old to drive, and she didn’t feel like she had a purpose. This was, until, my wife (Chelsey) gave her an idea of knitting hats for orphans in India. She had heard about a group of women here in Columbus that started knitting hats for orphans – called Nifty Knitters – and knew my grandmother could do it. Needless to say, my grandmother picked up on the idea and has found a new sense of purpose and knitted over 400+ hats! Here are a few pictures that has somewhat captured her life.God has been good to us – and to Grandma. I am thankful for my beautiful wife who has helped restore a sense of purpose to an old lady. Grandma is awesome, I wish everyone could meet her. It would only do you good! Here is a picture of the two ladies I spend the most time with! 

Stephanie and Jeff’s wedding was one of the most fun weddings that I have shot. The small family atmosphere was awesome… I felt like I was part of them for a short while – and I loved capturing the moment! Thanks for letting me be a part of your special day! You guys are awesome and I look forward to see what God does with/through you!

I had the opportunity to walk around downtown Columbus this past weekend to take some pictures of a really good band out of Auburn, AL, called Old Soul. One of my good friends, John Ross, plays bass in the band and we all had a great time walking around taking pictures. They played at Flip Flops (in Columbus) on Saturday night to a packed house and did a great job. I got some good shots at the show and will have to show you more of the whole day some other time. For now, here are two shots that I really liked:

Grant and I had a fun time walking through the woods and hanging out on the dock! He is a Senior at Northside High School here in Columbus and will actually be graduating early… so wait, is he a Senior ‘10 or ‘09?!?! Congrats Grant! It has been awesome getting to know you this past year and it was a privilege to take your pictures!

McKenzie Harrison is a Senior at Calvary High School… and she also happens to be my cousin (in law?). She is an excellent student and and loves to play tennis and have fun! She has a great smile and is getting more beautiful every time I see her… She is awesome and actually turned 17 today!
